Wow i really liked it and you're so right about that how convenient it is to stay alone. I myself order groceries even when store is literally 70m away. Like I'm avoiding the hassle of walking down & communication. It's isolating and bad for physical health too.
So i also joined the library because i was unable to focus in my room since i went for just 2 days, i felt so nervous & extra conscious of existence all the time. Since it's library to I don't have lot's of communication opportunities but i liked when i decided to go out and join something. I have been isolating myself for so long now that steping out feels difficult. Maintaining consistentcy is super difficult for me.
So i think this essay was wonderful because a lot's of us are feeling this way. You talking about badminton & the community also made me remember my time as kids, we used to play badminton in street & used to play cricket. Badminton is so fun, I always blame the airflow whenever i really suck at it😂.
I'm not good at all but it's so fun.
I think your this experience was really fun & very 90s sitcom coded where people be just hanging out then randomly decide to pack bags & hike out. Impromptu but with fun.
Sahara-chan!!!!!! Thank you so so much for taking the time to read it and share your thoughts. 😊 It really means a lottttt to me.
I smiled when you mentioned ordering groceries from just 70 meters away because I think so many of us can relate to how easy it is to stay inside these days. And I honestly admire that you joined the library. Even if it feels uncomfortable now, just showing up is already a big step.
Your story reminded me that building connection isn't about becoming outgoing overnight, it's simply about leaving the house one small step at a time.
And yes, blaming the airflow in badminton is completely valid! 😂 I still find myself making excuses too😬
I'm really glad the essay brought back some happy childhood memories for you. I hope you keep going to the library, and maybe one day you'll find your own little community there. Thank you again for such a thoughtful comment. ❤️
Thank you for reading & replying to my long comment, yes well i went to library just twice this week coz I'm still sick, and i talked to this girl, it felt so good to just casually talk to strangers & laugh about it.
Yes honestly after your essay, i have decided to order less & just walk 50 meter but it's just this urge to isolate myself again & again.
Yes one step at a time, that's what I'm trying.
Haha thanks though! Take care & keeeep spinning your rackets on court.
Shamarさん、Thank you so much!!I truly felt the same. I didn’t realize how much a shared activity and a sense of community could bring people together until I experienced it myself.
Still learning and discovering along the way, but I’m grateful for these small connections and moments of belonging
That's so kind of you to take the time to read and comment! 😊 Couldn't agree more. I came to realise it a little late too... but I guess it's never too late, right?

This is the power of shared activity and a community. I love it. Good for you!

Thank you for your kind words🙏🏼
Great article. I too depend on sports for my friends. A great way to connect with our fellow humans!
