Btw, when I read that you are teaching Japanese, I totally thought that you were native. That is why this is so impressive to me cause still for me, Japanese is the hardest thing I ever got to learn. You loving it so much was probably what motivated you the most, as you mentioned. But I am still so impressed and proud of you, of how you persisted.

As for teaching, I’m honestly just trying to learn from and copy others most of the time… Since I’m not a native, it does come with limitations, especially with kanji and cultural explanations. And there are many moments when I still feel like a にせもの. But maybe because I’m also a fellow learner, I end up learning along with my students. I’m not sure if that’s the best way, just taking it one class at a time.
By the way, what do you do for a living? Is Japanese part of your work? Sorry if that’s too personal 🙏🏼
Also, the way you write and express yourself in a foreign language here is already a great way of studying; it really shows what a thoughtful person and learner you are. I’m so, so glad to have met you here🥰

No it is okay. This is a very long story. I worked a lot of things, totally unrelated, lol. But my last position was a CEO to a small company, but I quit last year, for personal reasons. I just wanted to take a break from positions I don't want to work in, until I find the job I want. For Japanese, I am learning it hopefully for the work in the future. That's why I want to reach N2, at least. What about you? Do you do something else beside teaching?
